What do you use as targets? (PICS)

CZ-100's steel targets reminded me of this one I bought at a gun show.
It's fun to shoot and is always ready to go with just a little spray paint.

Another fun, interesting, fast target I use is five 8.5x11 inch targets stapled to cardboard and hung by a single string.
The targets are free to swing and spin in the wind.
The object is to shoot every target as it faces you. This can be right difficult, with a good wind, as the targets spin at different speeds and several targets face you at the same time.
If you move while shooting it really becomes a fast, fun, challenge.
The big problem with this target is the action is so fast and fun and with 17-20 round PX4 magazines I end up with a lot of brass to pick up.:D

Pretty basic, but it gets the job done. Printed from www.mytargets.com, 3-hole punched, and put in a binder so I can see what progress I'm making or if there are any new problems cropping up.

What do you use as targets?

I use a variety of targets, but the ones I've grown fond of are the "dirty birds. They show up real well through my spotting scope.

This is a printout target I made for testing loads. The grid is 1 inch square to determine approximate shot groups. It minimizes black area so it saves on ink/toner (you can set your printer setting to draft/econo for even more savings). Feel free to use the blank target template (Target.pdf).

for rifles, after I've got them tuned in, I use Blue Bunny ice cream cartons that I fill with water and freeze. They are kinda oval in shape. I set them out from 100-200-250 & 300 yards. They are just about the size of a lung and the white patch on a whitetail's throat. It's fun to see em explode. Besides, they slide right out and the ice melts and can be used several times. I also use those archery silouettes that are a profile of a deer. I tape them onto a piece of cardboard. Great for picking your shots on the body.

Our range only allows paper on wood backers that they provide, And that can be pretty boring so, i like to sit at a friends farm and shoot the crows off of the dead-piggy pile in the field. but i have been known to assinate microwaves,tv's and some small appliances on occasion,,,

I space 2 T posts about 2 feet apart and turn a horse or dog food 50# bag over it. It's about the size and height of a human torso.

Usually I use standard NRA bullseye targets for pistol (B2 B3). Outdoors I use the larger variants at 25 and 50 yards.
For rifles, I use standard high power bulls and smallbore bulls (50 and 100 yards).
The strangest target is one that I made for a postal competition at the Traditional Muzzleloaders forum. The match is called "Nose Piercings" and is still underway as I write this. It is based on a sharpshooter qualification shoot developed by Daniel Morgan in 1776. The shooters had to shoot at a drawing of a nose 100 yards offhand.
My nose target: The center of the X is the center of the paper.

I like those Shoot-n-See's, but I'm too cheap to pay for 'em.

I shoot at paper plates and printer paper, and watch the folks with the Shoot-n-See's. When they inevitably throw them out with all the little pasters still on them, I grab them outta the can and cut the little round stickies off and use those!

You can also extend the life of shoot and sees with spray paint. When dry it flakes off just like the original black layer. ;)

I get these from Midway---pack of 50 stick-ons ( seconds ) on sale for 2 more days--about $6.99 + frt.
I stick them on a 8.5 x 11" paper & staple to target holder.
I purchased these seconds before & could not find anything wrong with them.

Lines along the left for scoring or whatever other writing purposes you may have. Try to go for the little boxes with cross hairs inside them.

Old phone books, pressure treated 4x4 wood, old bowling pins, and anything else made of either cardboard, paper, or wood.

Once a year I get to shoot at human silhouette targets.
