The Greek phrase Molōn labe! (Μολὼν λαβέ; pronunciation in Modern Greek [molon lave]), meaning "Come and take [them]!", is a classical (reported by Plutarch) expression of daring and bravery, roughly corresponding to the modern "over my dead body" or "from my cold dead hands", or more literally to the "Come and take it" slogan from the Texas Revolution Battle of Gonzales.

My name is Maximus Decimus Meridius, Commander of the Armies of the North, General of the Felix Legion, loyal servant to the true emperor, Marcus Aurelius. Father to a murdered son, husband to a murdered wife. And I will have my vengeance, in this life or the next.

Molon Labe

Seen the movie "300" yet? That's the historical account of when and where it was uttered...or screamed. When the Spartan defenders, led by King Leonidas was ordered by the invading Persian commanders to lay down their weapons, Leonidas responded: "Come and take them!" In Greek, the term is...Molon Labe.

Modern translation could be:

Joe: "Billy Bob! Ah'm gon' whup yo' sorry butt!"

Billy Bob: "Git some!"

IIRC If I Recall/Remember Correctly

I always thought Molon Labe sounded like geeky and corny, and I'm a pretty geeky dude. I mean, I listen to eurobeat and post on THR. That's pretty geeky.
