Always:
-Taurus 85CH, loaded with 5 125gr .38+P Gold Dots. It is often on my person either in my pocket or in one of the cheapest Galco (or is it Bianchi, I don't remember) IWB holsters.
-Another handgun which is:
-Often my Taurus PT140 Milennium Pro, though it has been on hiatus until I changeover my defensive ammo. I was using plain WWB JHP but after a recent situation (a situation that locked up the gun) with WWB FMJ I'm not sure I trust WWB anymore. Once I've tested enough of the new ammo, probably Gold Dots, to trust it for reliability in my gun it will often be the second gun again, or more accurately it will be the primary with the 85 the backup. This gun is often carried at home in pocket or IWB in a nice, but inexpensive, High Noon tuckable IWB.
-I tend to alternate nearly equally between my Charles Daly 1911, CZ 75B, S&W 65LS and 6" S&W 586. The 65LS gets used a little more than the others, and the Daly is on temporary hiatus until I get a minor issue ironed out (it has 10K rounds through it and now it no longer wants to lock the slide open on an empty chamber). The 65 and 586 get loaded with 6 125gr Gold Dots in .38+P, the CZ with 16 (15+1) 124gr Gold Dots (9mm) and the 1911 with 9 (8+1) 230gr Silver Tips.
Still, the handgun is just to get me to the long gun. Usually the long gun is either my Winchester 94 in .45LC or the Benelli Nova 18.5" tactical version which, in addition to the loaded rounds, has 5 rounds on the butt and another 20 in an ammo belt I keep near the gun (2 loaded handguns and 30+ rounds of 12ga buck ready to go should handle most situations).
