Would eventually like a wheelgun with these following parameters. I can't seem to put my finger on it though.

* Around the size of a K Frame
* Must have adjustable/hi-viz sights (not the along the top strap rear sight)
* .38 spl (or .357 mag but to be mostly used with .38)
* 3" Barrel (or 4")
* Full or half lug barrel
* Round butt

What fits that description?

Thanks.

This fits. It's a 586-7, L Frame (slightly different than a K Frame but not much at all), 7 shot, .357 Magnum, red ramp front sight, adjustable white outline rear sight, 4" full lug barrel, round butt.

Cop tradein M19, M66 or Ruger Security Six and a trip to the gunsmith.
Pinnacle charges $95 to round the butt and $85 for an interchangeable front sight base for which fibre optics are available.

Like Jim W. says above, that's pretty easy. S&W 686 4" or Ruger Security Six...then mod to fit your specs. I personally suggest Gemini Customs for any pistolsmith work. Their work is remarkable.

I understand that you would like adjustable sights (Hi viz) on this revolver, but don't count out the good ol' S&W M10. Even though they are fixed sight guns they are very accurate and durable. The front sight can always be painted in a bright eye catching color too. But If fixed sights are totally out of the question then there is always the S&W M67.

I have three S&W mod 10s. To make them hit a black dot at 25 yards I had to file the front sight down just a bit. They tend to shoot low, but dead center othewise A very accurate firearm. And durable. My wife's is a 2" mod 10. The others are 4" barrels. And all can handle +P loads. I would not feel unarmed with one of them as long as they were loaded with a good +P hollow point.

I also have a mod 19 factory nickel 2 1/2" that I use as a winter carry. A bit heavier then the mod 10...

I agree with the Model 10 votes. This does not have all of your requirements, but they are good guns for the money. I just got a dandy used one for $229.

A Model 36 with a 3" barrel is a good choice if you want the smaller size. I once had one of these with full size Pachmayr grips on it. It was great. I never should have sold it.

These guns have fixed sights, however. I am a "keep it simple" kind of guy, so that is okay with me.

The S&W 620 7-shot 4" Bbl. half lug has adjustable sights, round butt
and kinda a sleeper in the line considering the difference in price for a full underlug barrel on the 686P.

Used the 19 Blued or 66 Stainless are same features on the
K-frame but I'm not sure about how many are or were produced roundbutt.

I have a 686P 4" Bbl. with Hogue K/L Compact grips - great grips
and balance. fwiw

I have always wanted a 3 inch round but mdl 10 or 13 and they would fit the bill but for the adjustable sights. I have a 3 inch SP-101 Ruger that I like alot. Also not adjustable sights though.
