What gun for carrying on ranch/farm?

Did the accuracy get any better on the later model ones?

Indeed, it has. Ruger went to a thicker, tapered barrel several years ago and it made a big difference.

I might have to give one a try...

Colt Compact 45 ACP, Lever carbine center fire and/or 20 ga single shot. No poisonous snakes here. Revolvers are just to big to carry if your doing any thing but driving or riding in which case I will have a long gun. Do not carry any thing you are afraid to get dirty, scratch, and dinged if you are farming or ranching. Rifle and shot gun should be slung, if set them down you will have to go back for them every time you move. I use a ballistic canvas scabbard that I wear across my back, but that is rare. Have Winchester 92 rifle (long barrel) if I am out just for pest control.
