I am new to the whole Gun boards thing and I have learned that TFL was closed. Do you know why? I am sorry that it did. It was a great site.

Of course this site is great as well

The Firing Line is very much alive and well.

Back in 2002 or so, Rich Lucibella, who owns TFL, made a personal decision to shut down the site.

It was then that Oleg and some of the other moderators decided to start TheHighRoad.org.

A couple of years ago, Rich brought TFL back online.

Others are correct; bit more if I may-

Rich Lucibella is the site owner of TFL.

He closed for a bit to focus his attention and those of some of TFL's Staff toward SWAT Magazine of which he aquired.

Rich is Publisher, Denny is Editor, Betty does graphics and if one were to take note of contributing authors and other works...one would recognize other names.

Rich and TFL raised the bar of which all gun forums aspire to be. One of the constant challenges to Responsible Firearm Owners, Rich reminded of us, and in closing remarks upon his decision to close TFL, was for us to not be satisfied on where the bar had been raised to, instead to raise it further.

Rich, Denny, Betty and others, lead by example, so while they challenged us, they challenged themselves with SWAT.

Oleg stepped up and opened THR, many others stepped up and continue to in many areas, be it blogs, trainers, contributing authors , other forums or gun related areas.

Sometimes one has to get off the Internet, roll up sleeves, get hands dirty to fight Tyranny, Preserve Freedom and lead by actions how to be a Responsible Firearm Owner.

Regards,

Steve
