Has this gun been discontinued, or renamed the 925? The reason I ask, is because I wanted to buy a new stock for mine. The gun is not listed on their website anymore, but there is one just like it called the 925.

Marlin added a "9" to the model number of their bolt-action rifles. The 17V became a 917V, the 25M became the 925M and it appears the 25N became the 925. Apparently this was to denote the new T-900 trigger design.

Thanks for the reply.

That's what I figured. I don't know how they thought they could improve the triggers of their bolt action rifles, they are already pretty sweet.

Do you know if the stock from the 925, will fit my rifle? I want to buy a stock with swivel studs, so I can put a 1907 sling on it. I know I could have mine drilled for them, but I couldn't stand the thought of the local gunsmith butchering it.

My thought was to use it to practice Highpower shooting. I have several .22's, but none are really suitable for what I want.
I need to get in a lot of practice before I go back down to Camp Perry. I will probably pick up a Government trainer when I'm down there.

It's a lot cheaper than using up all my .223 or 30.06.:D
