Keep the (pre mtn gun ) 629 loaded with 300XTP's for bigger stuff, and the Model 19 with 158grain XTPs for smaller and close in problems

My carry piece, a Commander, goes on a shelf above my computer.
There's a 1908 Colt .380 in a nearby drawer.
Heaven knows what my wife has at hand! Usually an Officers ACP .45 or a KT P11.
Some kinda S&W revolver in the nightstand on my side - - M19 .357, M10 .38 SPL or 1917 .45. See above remarks about what's in HER drawer. Probably a Browning High Power.
Oh, yes, there's a loaded M1 carbine somewhere nearby . . . .

Rem 870 12 ga (20" slug barrel with rifle sights) with safety off, hammer down, chamber empty, 4 in mag with 5 in butt cuff (all 9 are buckshot).

At this very monenbt? A Kahr P9 Covert loaded with 115 Gr +P CorBons, a P32 loaded with Winchester FMJs.
Back when I usta have a house and a wife to defend, I had a 686 loaded with 4 rounds of blue Glasers and the last two filled with 158 Gr LSWCSJHPs and an 870 with #2 shot. And there was always a Taurus PT99 loaded with CorBons. And at leat one 1911 - usually a Springfield - loaded with Rangers or Gold Dots... And an RRA AR with 30 rounds of soft points.
There were better houses to break into.
