I have a friend who wants to sell me ALL of the following stuff in one sale.

What is a fair yet decent price all this stuff:

8 pound jug IMR 4350 Smokeless Powder

1 pound Winchester 680 Smokeless Powder

2700 CCI BR-2 Large Rifle Bench Rest Primers

619 Nosler .308 168gr HPBT Bullets

55 Berger .308 168gr HPBT J4 Moly Bullets

358 .308 Brass New R-P, processed and ready to load

200 .30-06 Brass military-match Lake City once fired

400 Hornady 38/357 cal 158gr HP/XTP bullets

370 Winchester 357mag brass once fired

129 Winchester 357mag brass once fired, deprimed

400 (est) Federal 38spcl brass once fired.

70 Rem .223 55gr cartridges

Thanks...

If you buy it and decide to part it out, I'm interested in the .308 bullets. I'd also take the IMR 4350 and CCI BR2 primers were it not for the hazmat charges.

Thanks for the info. I was thinking around 300 or so was an okay deal but didn't want to get burned.

The only thing that I'm not really interested in is the 30-06 brass, I don't have a rifle in that.

I really want it mainly for the powder and the bullets especially the 308 bullets.

I just wish that there were more standard large rifle primers than the bench rest. I'm a plinker not a bench rest shooter so the bench rest primers are way more than I need.

you could always sell the 30-06 on this forum to a fellow member to recoup some of you cost."HINT" I am sure it wouldnt last long. $300 seems like a fair price so go for it. Extra items in my garage are trade fair for things I might need later.

Frankly, IMO, $300 is lowballing it. The Nosler .308 HPBT's are easily worth $100 alone.

If he doesn't know how much all that is worth, why does he have it? Was he a reloader or did he purchase it as a lot himself, at an estate sale for example?

if I were at a gun show looking to pick up these items, these are my target max prices (the most I'm willing to pay for broken lots and misc items) for these items individually. I'd expect to pay something less for the lot.

$80 - 8 pound jug IMR 4350 Smokeless Powder

$12 - 1 pound Winchester 680 Smokeless Powder

$50 - 2700 CCI BR-2 Large Rifle Bench Rest Primers

$80 - 619 Nosler .308 168gr HPBT Bullets

$5 - 55 Berger .308 168gr HPBT J4 Moly Bullets

$15 - 358 .308 Brass New R-P, processed and ready to load

$12 - 200 .30-06 Brass military-match Lake City once fired

$40 - 400 Hornady 38/357 cal 158gr HP/XTP bullets

$16 - 370 Winchester 357mag brass once fired

$6 - 129 Winchester 357mag brass once fired, deprimed

$20 - 400 (est) Federal 38spcl brass once fired.

$5 - 70 Rem .223 55gr cartridges

I wouldn't want everything on this list, so that factors into it, and even though some things may be worth a bit more, I'm not inclined to pay a premium.

Maybe not applicable here - but I see guys with odd boxes of 30 yr old components, expecting to get 85% of a new price. The issue I have with that, especially bullets, is they're never going to be more than plinkers since you'd run out of an obsolete component just as you're getting a good load worked up. So they need to be valued as plinkers.

He is my co-worker who collects high end Garands, M1As, pre-war 1911s, and original Trapdoors. He bought a highly customized and accurized (sp?) M1A from someone for around 4500 dollars. My friend will never shoot it. Anyway, with the deal came all this reloading stuff and he just wants it to go to someone who will appreciate it. He mainly wants to recoup his shipping costs for the rifle and supplies which was in the neighborhood of 275 dollars and offered it to me for around that price.

I just didn't want to pay too much for it. I'm not a bench rest shooter, more of a plinker but I sure could use all those supplies minus the 30-06.

That is the crux of the deal.
