If you can buy factory for what it costs to reload it, or even just close, by all means, do so, makes perfect sense to me. Its just not something you see much of these days, as much as Id like too.

I keep components coming on a regular basis, whether I need them or not, and even during the last couple of shortages, I never skipped a beat and just kept ordering and shooting, as I always did. While they may have all showed "sold out" on most, if not all the web sites, all the places I normally do business, allowed you to order and just put you in a queue, and sent things in the order that the orders were placed, so what I ordered, always showed up, pretty much right on time too, without any interruptions.

Just "buying" factory ammo, especially if your boxes only hold 20 or 50, kind of puts you at the mercy of the markets, especially if youre not buying regularly to stock up, and replace what you use in practice. You should have seen the panic around here during the last shortage, when the "one box a year", and likely all they had on hand boys, wanted ammo for deer hunting, and everyone was sold out!

I still buy factory when I see a good deal, and just put it away, and mostly shoot my reloads.

Back when Walmart was selling their 9mm "value packs" for about $20/100, it was basically a "buy by the case" prices, without shipping. A pretty good deal actually. I used to buy a couple of boxes every time I went in, and soon had a number of cases put back. Still have most of it too. Still, even at that price, I load the same thing, for half that. So unless they are dumping it at less than cost, reloading is still the better deal, as long as you dont mind putting in your time to do it.

Blazer Aluminum for $0.20 a round.
That's for Blems but it's just cosmetic.
