As we all know, Wal-Mart is starting to sell the White Box .45 ACP (230 gr ball) ammo for 20 bucks or so.

I took a box and my Kimber to the range this morning. Results were fine - 100 rounds with no failures, ammo was relatively clean and ejection pattern was actually better than my Georgia Arms 230 GD loads. Accuracy was good, not as tight as my GA ammo or my 200 gr LSWC reloads. No need to go into precise measurements as my Kimber never has much liked hardball, but the Winchester shot about 5 inch groups of 8 rounds at 25 yards. YMMV - I'm not that good of a shot.

WWB has been very good to me in 9mm and .45ACP. I wonder if the bulk .45 will be "not quite exactly the same" as the 50 rd trays, like the 9mm is reported to be...?

Anyway, I reload for .45 now, so I look forward to sweeping up all that useless brass at the range. In multiples of 100. :)

G'day boing and et al.,

Unlike the 9x19mm bulk Winchester rounds which are losely packed in the box, the 45 ACP 100 round boxes are two of the 50 count trays stacked.

Based on my limited evaluation [100 rounds] this weekend of the ammo through three of my various mfr. launchers they are of a good quality, high value. Brass was good. Consistency was good. This was guaged on the 50yd steel targets out at our local range. [Got to hear the sound of Freedom and banged up steel targets quite a bit!]

Hope you all are able to get out there and enjoy the shooting sports! Cheers!

went to the local WM, and noticed the new big white boxes behind the counter.... in 40 and 45 none in 9 he he he....

so i nab up a box of 40 to see if it's any different than the 50 box.... absolutely not, it's the exact same as far as my pistols can tell....

haven't tried the 45 yet... but it won't be long...
