Go look at the thread I started in General Discussions. It does sound stupid at first, but if you step back and look at it with an open mind in the air of the discussion I presented, it might make a little more sense.
I'm assuming you had a traditional shooting/hunting upbringing. I did. But a lot kids today never go hunting or shooting with a member of their family one time, let alone as a pastime. So they get into video games, zombie stuff glorifies firearms, and they get into firearms that way. So we either call it stupid and shun them and let the anti's use them to fuel gun bans (kids are doing these school shootings using firearms found in video games, etc.) or we take them in and legitimize the craze and make it a real sport like cowboy action shooting --then they get the traditional teachings, safety, competition, etc. When they grow out of it, they may move on to highpower or IPSC, whatever. We get more kids into shooting the right way and take away any emotional arguement the anti's may have gained from it. It may seem unconventional, but think of all the stuff you did that seemed unconventional to your parents. Your music, your dress.
So before I go on forever, just go look at what I wrote over there. The thread is called "Zombies are invading... Our gun culture!?"
