What is going on here really???

Light rifle, heavy recoiling cartridge. No magic, no nothing. It's just a .577 T-Rex gun - something that produces 2/3rd or more of the 50BMG muzzle energy in a gun weighing ~10-15lbs and having no muzzle break. Physics and all that... ;)

What is going on there is a seriously overpowered rifle cartridge being fired from a fairly light gun on what looks like a tourist rental range.
So you have heavy recoil, inexperienced shooters, and the video editor gets to pick the most embarrassing 50 shooters from thousands of video clips.

With a really bad song over it, of course. It would be 100% of the way to being a YouTube cliche if it added a bad slow-motion replay.

The guy at 2:17 gets bonus points for a good catch after losing control, though.

That is a private range owned by a wealthy enthusiast named Saeed in the UAE. He lived in Houston for a while and is a former World Champion in Skeet, his little brother also won a couple of World Championships in Trap and Double Trap and I think an Olympic Gold as well. The .577 will put a serious butt whuppin on you, approximately 10,000 ft.pd.'s of muzzle energy as I recall, although I would have to look it up again to make sure.

Go to Accuatereloading.com that is the website run buy Saeed Ther are lots of videos there of people trying to shoot the .577 T-rEX

It's a very heavily recoiling rifle being fired by a bunch of guys who probably have never fired any rifle before and have no idea how to hold and fire one properly. Not surprising that they end up on their butts.

I have always thought the same thing. I figure it's got a lot of recoil, but they all seem smallish and not very familiar with guns and shooting.

I think most people who have shot high powered rifles before could handle that. I'm not saying there isn't a lot of recoil, just that I probably wouldn't drop the thing.

LOL This video has been posted from one end of the interweb to the other and back again.

Think of this rifle as the firearms equivelant of that 14" cheseburger that you get for free if you can eat it all.
