I legally own a S&W 410S. I know having a carry lisence in San Bernardino, CA is virtually impossible. I was wondering what town is the most gun friendliest in the United States and in times like these how to find a job there?
Thanks for your input.

Generally speaking regarding having a carry license issued it is best to go to a "Shall Issue" state that way they must issue a permit if you meet all the requirements. Some states have lifetime permits other state's permits expire. There is also the reciprocity issue with permits. Most states honor other state's CC permits but there are a few oddball states. This may matter depending on where you plan on visiting, like if you have family somewhere.

I live in NC and here you have to have a "pistol purchase permit" to receive a handgun but we also have RTP which is good for me as I work in the tech sector. Other states also have a licensing scheme as well (FOID cards for some states, etc) and each state/city has it's own industries that dominate their economy. As such not everyplace will be attractive for everyone to move to.

Other things to consider are waiting periods on gun purchases, Class III/ Title 2 firearm restrictions (Not all states allow MGs, supressors, sbrs, sbss, etc.)

In summary all I'm really saying is "it depends" as everyone's situation is unique. If you have any specific requirements you can post them up and we'll try to answer as best as possible.

Best city to own a gun is Kennesaw, Georgia. You are required by law to own a firearm. It's really not enforced, but you get the idea.

San Antonio, TX. Our economy is still going strong, real estate is cheap, and there's plenty of jobs.

Way more laid back than Dallas, less hippie than Austin, and less crime than Houston.

Best town to live in?

I'm up here in Northern Idaho about 25 Miles east of Spokane Up near the Canadian border (Snow belt country 160 inches last winter) But don't you tell a soul you heard it.

I think it is the best place to live in the entire USof A.

I came here from a job at one of the GM plants 7 years ago and took a job as a secretary. Big pay difference but it don't cost much to live up here compared to Michigan- Good timing I think.

There is full open carry up here, except where the federal laws disallow.
and it is very easy to qualify for a CCW.
The CCW permit is for 5 years, +/- $60.00

You can carry fully loaded in the car as long as it is in open sight. The cops don't really seem to care if you carry or not. Most of my friends conceal carry since the permits are so easy to get. I've seen 16 year old kids in a Subway sandwich store packing open carry. Yeah for the 2nd amendment!

You can transfer firearms from person to person without any paperwork at all. I have been given 2 handguns in the past couple of months and nobody cares, no papers necessary.
Buying from a dealer is under Fed rules, they call in your basic questionaire and you walk out in 15 minutes with your firearm. No 3-7-10 day rules here.
I just purchased a 45 ACP. I was in and out of the store on my 30 minute lunch break, the dealer gave me 25 rounds of ammo to practice with to boot.
Doesn't get much better than that - UNLESS YOU LIVE IN MONTANA !!

The job market sucks up here at the moment and housing prices have taken a 15% dump. But with all that said I'm not moving and won't even consider it.
My wife carries too!

Hard to argue with that - it definitely shows that guns are treated as friendly things there, and not some big bad scary demonic thing.

Chicago. Every punk kid gang banger with a record has a handgun around here.

I've lived/worked in 42 states. From Jersey to texas; alabama to california; new mexico to maine. Lowest crime; friendliest people; pro gun; great economy; unemployment of 3.5%; No state income tax; bla bla bla bla....... "CHEYENNE, WYOMING".

I gotta agree with Gearchecker. It does not get much easier then Idaho. If your military or a "lifelong hunter", you dont even need to take a CWP class.

Trading or selling firearms is just as easy as buying a gallon of milk.

I don't think there's many jobs here, but I nominate Pahrump, NV as the best. We have brothels, shall issue and can carry in casinos, restaurants, the DMV and open or concealed in the PO. Who else can do that? :)

well, here in central washington you walk into the county courthouse or city pd, fill out a form, get fingerprinted, give them money and your cpl shows up in the mail after a few weeks

nothing more, nothing less

Move out of the city and relocate into an unincorporated part of San Bernardino county.

The San Bernardino County Sheriff Department is as close to "shall issue" as you can get in CA. Last 10+ years, "self protection" was a reasonable "good cause" statement for the San Bernardino County Sheriff.

Head over to calccw.com to find out more.

move to a state with good gun laws that also has preemption laws to keep cities and such from exceeding state law. that way, you'll have dozens of choices.

Definitely Las Vegas/Henderson (all of Clark County for that matter) With a Nevada d/l you take a one day class and get to shoot what ever you want to cary and a CCW is your in just a few weeks. Any revolver listed on your licence lets you carry any revolver that exists, carry two if you want. Some times I carry a 629-3inch under my arm and a ss357 on my ankle. Want to cary a auto? just qualify (hit the target) and it gets listed on your CCW. Soon they say all autos will be eligable once you have qualified with any auto, but for now you have them listed on your licence, I have 10 on mine. ALSO got a CCW? and you just walk into a gun shop buy your pistol and walk out. What could be cooler than that. Tons of indoor and outdoor ranges in the city up to 1000 meter outdoor range sites, and did i mention if you legally own Class 3 stuff its no sweat shooting it in any legal area. Happy looking . I moved here 6 years ago and from California and felt like i went to gun heaven

"It's the law in Kennesaw."

Kennesaw, Georgia.

I live next door in Marietta, but I do work in Kennesaw across from KSU.

You are in fact required by law to own a gun in the city limits, and a fishing rod too!
