between a neck sizer and a full length sizer die. Is one better then the other for 223 that will be used in an AR.
Thanks

A neck sizer just resizes the area above the shoulder and is easier to use than a full length sizer die that resizes the entire case. For a bolt action neck sizing is sufficient and probably preferable. For an autoloader full size resizing is best for more reliable feeding. What part of Ohio are you from?

neck sizing dies do just that size the neck area of a case.these are fine if you have one bolt action rifle.if you are sizing for an ar get a full length sizer die to make sure you reloads chamber fully. full length dies reduce the entire case to slightly below standard case dimensions

It's just as it sounds an LubeckTech hit it right on the head. However, for safety's sake, always use a full-length resizing die for AR style guns.

If you're in the market for a .223 sizing die, look into the RCBS X-Die. Basically, it enables you to not have to trim brass all the time. A search will yield more info. I picked one up for my .223 setup.

for AR's a lot of folks use 'small base dies' to resize as much as possible of the case, for reliabiltiy.
I use a neck sizer for my Marlin lever and it works, but won't for some lever guns with tight chambers, fyi.
