What is the last gun that you bought?

I have not bought my last gun yet :p
Same here ;)
After selling a couple at our local fun-show last week, I picked up a 2nd gen Glock 23, Colt Mustang XPS and then feeling a little retro, a Cobray M-11/9mm with a Lage Slowfire upper

Reading how a lot of you got rid of you'r first gun's.
So to make thing's happier let's talk about you'r last toy you brought home.
Mine was a sig p220 45 acp:).
There that's much better, let's hear from you.

Mossberg Shockwave.
Enjoying it and ,looking at a few new items now

NIB Spingfield Mil-Spec 1911 direct from Springfield Armory at Camp Perry during National Pistol Matches. Could not pass it up.

Went to the Gander Mountain closing sale in Houston all firearms 40% off until July 23:

Savage 93 blued in .22WMR w/ Bushnell 3-9x40
ATI compact 1911
Mossberg 505 youth model 20 gauge
Remington 700 ADL in 30.06 200 year commemorative

A two-gun week rounding out a three-gun month. I probably won't buy too many more in the near future, but it was a good spree while it lasted.

Pictured at a Model 1916 Newton commercial sporter, a Marlin Model 19S repeating shotgun, and a World War I foreign-contract Savage 1907 automatic. I suspect all date before 1920.

I suppose if Pancho Villa turns up again for some centennial trouble-making I'll be ready.

Taurus pt111 g2 millenium pro. Bought at cabelas a couple of days before the price went up. Nice pistol, but the looong trigger take up is taking some getting used to.

I'll have to check local gander mountain again. I haven't seen 40% off rifles here, I'll drop by as I would rather buy something new and inexpensive than beat up on my dad's old 03a3...all it needs is a new stock to be fully restored (if it's worth it, that is).

Norinco SKS "Paratrooper" carbine, today. Found it in a pawn shop in fair-to-good condition (some rust on the bolt top, some bluing wear on the gas tube above the barrel, and missing both the bayonet and the cleaning rod.) Everything about it looks pretty good, and the bore is practically gleaming. OTD for $290. Had been eyeing the Marlin 336W at Wal-Mart for $345 (followed by $50 Remington MIR), but got turned off by the store's lack of enthusiasm for the sale when I arrived on two different occasions within two hours of their cutoff time for gun sales.

Purpose was (is) to be a "knock-around" truck/Jeep rifle.

A Winchester M-70 Long Range Hunter (300 winchester) with a Vara-X Leupold and a Ruger Super Redhawk in 44 mag from a friend needing money. Neither were on my want list but they were at garage sale prices.

Been a while, so here you go,

RIA 9MM/.22 TCM combo. Truglo sights I picked because I really like the aggressive hook on the rear sight for emergency racking.

It's not my first double-stack 1911, you get used to the bulk if you don't have tiny hands. I like 1911s, and I wanted a double-stack 9mm. I love the trigger and the feel.

The TCM is amusing. I'm sure it will turn a jackrabbit into a fine pink mist. (I intend to verify this soon.) But it's expensive, I mostly plan to handload for it.

It came with one magazine, with a slight divot cut to help feed the TCM. I bought two more Mec Gars, I cut a coil off the spring from one of them, as far as I can tell, they all run 9mm just fine, no differences.

Now for the....annoying part. The extractor was too loose. I sent it back to RIA, they made it WAY too tight. I gave it to a local guy, he tweaked it, he said it test fired fine, I will verify soon. RIA service gets an F for that one. I went to get sights, and as far as I can tell from available web info, RIA uses a proprietary dovetail cut, and according to one shop, there are limited options to replace the sights. So I tell my gunsmith to go ahead and cut new dovetails, and I buy these Truglows to mount, and fortunately he tried them out before he started shaving anything, they fit just fine. RIA could be more clear about it and say they use a Novak cut.

SO, it's set up like I like it, but it took a lot of trial and error to get there.

Ruger super Blackhawk, old model. Manufactured in 1973. Sweet gun, beautiful fit and finish and great trigger.

Finally bought a Ruger 10/22 carbine. Now it's got a Titan stock, a Feddersen barrel, and a Mueller scope. It's also got a Harris bipod but that isn't shown in the pic. I still need to send the trigger group to Brimstone for a tier 2 job then I'll start thinking about a better extractor and maybe do something with the bolt, charging handle.... I think the action will still be original when I'm done but no promises. 1022.jpg
