what is the starbucks deal?

Ive read a bunch of threads with some post responding to starbucks, so what happened with starbucks was it some deal about conceal carry weapons in starbucks? If anyone can fully elaborate in what happened id much appreciate it, thankyou
 
Starbucks said they follow state law in regards to customers carrying weapons, open or concealed, in their stores. The brady bunch threw a fit. Starbucks said "deal with it."

And there was much rejoicing (on our side). :)
 
Some antis petitioned starbucks to not allow legally carried firearms in their stores.

Starbucks declined to do that, wich was somewhat surprising considering their percieved image and clientele.
 
Just remember the original meaning of liberal, a free thinker, well some of them are still free, and not on the "free thinking" band wagon, that they made a decision, well most of the art crowd is really a live and let die sort, so a gun really aint going to bother most of them, it's the uptight suits really, and they use the drive through.
 
I'd just like to say that last night I went to a starbucks for the first time in a year... and I carried a blaster, and nobody died!
 
And here I thought a liberal was just a conservative who hasn't got mugged yet. I sure don't consider them free thinkers, considering the fact that they want stuff done to make people beholding to their style of government.

A liberal usually denotes membership in the Democrat party. I used to be a Democrat. And just like Reagan, I didn't leave the party. They left me.
 
Just ask Lewis Black. You walk out of a Starbuck's on a corner of downtown Houston and there is one across the street. It the Nexus of the Universe.:eek:
 
I don't even like their coffee much, and the young ladies look at me like I'm a space alien when I tell them I just want whatever they're calling coffee for that day. But after they told the Brady clowns to pack sand, I've started going in and buying a cup every week. Anyone who is willing to make those fools mad deserve support.
 
Starbucks didn't want to be part of the debate since it would be bad for business either way. They simply just ducked out and refused to participate by saying they will go with whatever state laws say.

All in all a good position.
 
I open carry in Starbucks all the time. Everybody is cool and polite. I'm no yuppie, but I treat myself to a cup at least once a week. {Not part of the Latte crowd}
If they ever tell me I can't carry in their stores, I'll never go in one again!
 
Just thought I'd chime in ... I'm happy as a clam having a coffee at a local Starbucks, with CCW, and surfing their wireless web on such non PC sites as thehighroad.org and various dealers.

I had to wander to Starbucks while my car is being fixed - all the local VW dealers have some kind of internet site safe service that very aggressively blocks anything to do with firearms, weapons, and generally un-PC topics when you use their internet on premises. They also had a sign banning weapons from the premises. My next car will NOT be a VW (for many other mechanical reasons, but this is just one more straw for the camels back).

But back to Starbucks. While I philosophically have a problem with a $5 cup of coffee, I'm truly glad their not imposing a political view of the world, and not bending to those who would ...

I just can't forgive the guy for letting the Hughes amendment get through.
I'll always hold that against him.
 
I start each work day with a visit to Starbucks. It ain't because of their gun policy, it's because I'm addicted to their darned Frappucinos. I'm not an "up tight suit", but I usually use the drive through. (Can't open carry in TX any way.)

From the title, I thought Starbucks was offering a discount to anyone who will present a carry permit when they order. :eek: That made me want to head out for an early afternoon Joe.

The art crowd? Free-thinking? They are allegedly open-minded. Can't agree with anything else :/
