I might be using a bullet for history assignment of mine and i'm going to need to contact gun shops and ask for a bullet. I'm after something that has no gunpowder and obviously is just for show.
Use a substitute of some kind, wood, plastic, whatever. Don't mess with any part of the real thing if you're taking it on campus.
Looks like an important part of that trap is the case the cartridge sits in. Otherwise, the brass would blow out the side and the soldier would go unharmed.
as i'm trying to make a scale model using an accurate calibre i need to find out some stuff.
1. what is the correct term given to a bullet that can't fire, can't explode, and is really just a piece of fashioned metal.
2. what calibre would be appropriate? (easy to get yet relevant to the vietnam war)
sorry if it sounds like i'm too lazy, i'm just trying to find out some facts before i consider this path..
What college? Most schools have their policies online.
I know that I my school, La Tech, I can have a million rounds of ammo on campus, but not gun, since the ammo is not legally an explosive device and the campus bans firearms specificly, and explosive devices
If you don't want to use a snap cap because it looks unreal, you can probably buy one of those dummy cartridge key chains. Since students have been suspended for drawing pictures of guns at school, if it was me I would just use photos for demonstration purposes.
