I started noticing these after about twenty rounds. Don't ever remember seeing them on any other calibers and rifles I reload for.
It's the rough looking edge at the end of the neck (I hope I described it well enough. Makes me think something's not smooth as it should be, or just need another good cleaning been about 70 rds since last one. Any help on this one? It's around the crown of the neck. Was firing reduced recoil loads with Nosler BT

Ant help I this one?

pictures dark and out of focus. Lay them flat on a non glossy light surface. Piece of paper will do.

Can't tell what you're referring to. Some light on the near side of the case would help.

And to be sure we're on the same page:
The edge at the end of the neck is the mouth.
The neck is the cylindrical surface at the upper end of the case.
The base is the cylindrical surface at the lower end of the case.
The shoulder is the tapered surface connecting the neck and the base.

Maybe this will help
Nice way to eliminate miscommunication there macgrumpy, I also had a batch of barnes brass in 300blk (Remington factory loads) that looked like that after firing. A rough, uneven mouth. Almost as if it was serrated like a saw around the mouth. Fwiw the ammo i had also showed a few overpressure signs. Flattened primers and sticky extraction. Any of that sound familiar?

Sometimes a tight factory crimp into a cannelure bullet will do that.

Is this a round that YOU previously loaded and one which had a smooth mouth edge before? If not, I would bet on a cannelure crimp.

Shoulder?? Looks like carbon build up from the reduced loads. My reduced loads in 30-06 make a shorter case, letting gas/dirt get past the shoulder more than normal. Clean it to see if it helps.

I'm sorry folks, I can't seem to get a clear picture but yeah it is the mouth. Rough around the edges.

I had some brand new brass like that. My cure was to trim, deburr, and chamfer them.

You don't say where in the life of the case this is. Once fired from factory ammo? Not unusual.

What I see, the rough case mouth, is not that unusual. As mentioned, when the case is trimmed, chamfered and deburred the case mouth should have a nice smooth even finish. I wouldn't worry about it.
