LOL! Yup!! M-14. A bit different than the M1. I missed the grooved upper handguard...........

Looks like an M1 Carbine to me...................

Thats far too big for an M1 carbine. Look at the reciever and handguard. Far too big.

Anyone else think it might be a Garand?

Look at the handguard, a garand's handguard isn't shaped like that.

It's an m14 or m1A as others like to call it.

M14 for sure.

anyone else think it might be a Garand?

See the handguard on top of the barrel? Garands are wooden, that look with the little ridges is distinctive of the M14's plastic handguard.

OH MY GOD!!!! have you told someone that you will buy this rifle????? Did you think about buying this rifle and disclose any information regarding words like "hey, that's a cool gun, how much for it?"

it's probably already too late...I can hear the helicopters landing in your front yard already to take you off to the big house..... :D

Oh yeah... it's an M14

Picture looked like some vaguely Russian-looking guys parading in front of the Capitol. <shiver> btw, another tell on M14 vs. Garand is the gas tube. On the Garand, the gas tube goes nearly to the muzzle of the rifle.

Army Honor Guard wearing Winter Dress Blues.
M-14 rifle with brown G issue fiberglass stocks, note the impressed checkering on the forearm.
M-6 Bayonet, with plated blade for parade use.
How come my photos are always a thumbnail and never big?

M14-now with the typing more stuff so that I don't get the "message too short" message.

You need to upload your photos to photobucket or some other picture hosting site and then copy and paste in the IMG code that photobucket provides into your post here and the pic will come in full sized.
