200 Gr LSWC H&G Design over 5.3 gr 231, Win LPP. Load makes IDPA/IPSC PF and shoots great in all my 1911's.

Take Care

That really gets you up to 850 fps?--a little pad for variation.
I am shocked.
I am running Rainier 200 gr FN, and I am having to put 6.3 gr or HP-38 (Win 231--yeah, HP-38 is a little, little bit less than Win 231, but a full grain?) to get to 850. Must be the heavy air down here:cuss:

The most accurate loads I shoot use the 185 gr. Star LSWCHP and either 3.8 gr. HS-70X Rem 2.5 for ca 715 fps or 3.8 gr. VV N-310 WLP for ca 790 fps. The first load is a real good for bullseye tiemd and rapid fire stages at 50ft to 25 yards.

Kimber SS Custom Classic

Bullet: Precision 200g SWC
Powder: Vit N320 4.8g
Primer: WLP
COL: 1.245"

Sweet comfortable round to shot all day long.
Very accurate, 2" groups from the bags at 25yds.
Super clean combination, very little smoke. Precision bullets have a hard coating that is a lube so no smokey wax. N320 also very clean powder so for indoor shooting like bowling pins it is a great combination. Just loaded 500 with 5.5g

Bullet: Speer 230g LRN
Powder: 231 5.6g
Primer: WLP
COL: 1.270"

The best load I have ever loaded for plain bullseye shooting.
From the bags I was able to place 10 rounds in a 1.5" group did it 3 times one after the other. We were in awe, but the 45acp was designed for the 230.
Lots of lead in the barrel thou. Never tried any other powder on this bullets.
