I picked these 7.62x39 up at the range the other day and noticed some of the cases has a partially expanded case neck. Is this a special type of chamber or is it caused by an malfunction?
I don't recall exactly, but it is some kind of European or Russian chamber to identify the difference between a civilian firearm and a Military firearm.
Its from a Saiga rifle. The Russian Govt makes them use that stepped chamber as an identifying mark on the cases for civilian guns. Some of the guns imported had the same barrels, some apparently didn't. It doesn't seem to hurt anything.
