What kind of knife does the Joker use in Dark Knight?

Throughout the film, which is great btw- definitely see it, the joker uses the same automatic knife. It looks double sided, maybe some kind of NATO switchblade? That was my guess. Anyone else wondering what kind of a knife that was? Or anybody know?

On the gun side of it, I noticed a glock 18 with hard chromed slide and 33 round mag

Primarily a Dalton Cupid, but a purple Microtech Trodon and a Microtech Tanto Makora are used as well. Neither of which are the NATO OTF trash we see at flea markets and gun shows.

Here's the Cupid with it's very distinctive slotted blade and button catch depression.

It's becoming remarkably common to hear that question asked on almost every occasion I take out a knife to cut something.

I have even heard my Razel be referred to as a "cleaver."

Thanks guys. I looked up both of the knives you mentioned, and they are definitely the ones Heath Ledger uses in the film. However, they're way out of my price range. I would sooner buy a variety of different things then drop three bills on a knife. Things have a tendency to walk out of my pockets anyway.

But I want a knife like this is a big way, so I am looking for a cheaper way to scratch the itch, but still end up with a durable, cool looking new knife. I started a new thread with some possibles...again, thanks!

Really lived up to the hype...great crime drama, like...untouchables great. And IMO...Ledger out Jokers Nicholson. :O I like to support good movies...they sure don't come out with many these days...

I was worried about taking my wife to see The Dark Knight. She's not much on movie violence, but more of a comedy or musical sort of patron.

After the flick, we went out for Chinese food. I patiently sought out her opinion of the movie, wondering if she enjoyed it.

She snickered, "Yeah, I had a good time...but..."

I braced for her rebuttal.

"...but, let's face it," she smirked, "it's a morality play involving a motorcycle, a few dozen knives and a truly insane take on humor. Yeah, a good movie, but I built a marriage on that..."

I love that woman.

I was disappointed in the movie. It was not bad, just not great either. It has become the Heath Ledger love fest.

I don't think it was better than Batman Begins.

Batman's "knives"? Bat throwing "stars". Perhaps the vambrace "hooks".

Joker's? Too many to count without a screen capture.

"Winning" does not necessarily mean owning the contested field. Instead, it means accomplishing your objectives. In this, the Joker was successful.

This means he won.
