What gun have you been realistically searching for but unable to find at a price you could afford?

Mine is a Remington 31 factory riot.

I saw one at a gun show, but it was in 98% condition with military markings. $1,600 was way too much for me to spend on a gun that would go down in value after reasonable use.

I am thinking that there must be a former police gun out there for about $500, but I have not seen any 31 riots other than the $1,600 safe queen.

I picked up a Savage 24 in .22LR/.410 for $150 a few years back and sold it. I was too young to realize just how versatile that gun was an I kick myself every time I see one go for $400+.

I have 3 that i have never been able to find but my #1 would a Dan Wesson 6" 22lr revolver. never put my hand on one. Sure would be nice next to my other DW.

Sometime it`s not the, " I can`t find "part but the," I can`t afford "part.

I`ve always wantd a Winchester 71 in it`s only cal, .348 Win but I can`t afford one. There like hens teeth to find and cost a ton.

Not trying to hi-jack your question/post but sometime find and cost cross paths. :)

I've been looking for a nice Remington Nylon 66 for years. And then that darn article on them in American Rifleman came out, and the price went up.

A Marlin 1894 FS in .41 magnum. Should have brought one when they were making them.
20/20 hindsight is always expensive!

CZ-75 Compact steel frame decocker. I sold one when I worked at a gun shop, not realizing they are as rare as hens teeth. Also sold 6 Colt Z-40s, shoulda snagged one of them, too.

Ruger 77/22 in .22 mag--rare as hens teeth---saw one in the Walmart special order catalog and was quoted $600--this is the standard model------I can get a decent center fire for a lot less.

I looked for a 3" S&W Model 13 locally for over a year before I gave up and bought one of the police surplus 3" Model 65s that CDNN had a few years ago. I don't like stainless steel (It's the only stainless gun I have.), but for the price, I couldn't turn down a pre-lock gun with all of the features I wanted, EXCEPT material. It even had the grips I wanted.

Rossi Cyclops .357 w/ 8" barrel

Forgot: Taurus Raging Bull in .500S&W w/ 10" bbl - Had one and sold it like an idiot.

There's quite a few I've lusted for for quite some time. I scratched my S&W model 24 itch last year. Paid too much but was tired of waiting and got one NIB, which pisses off the collectors. ;)

Scratched my 5" 1911 with adjustable sights itch yesterday with a Springfield Range Officer. ;)

Still waiting for a nice Winchester Chief Crazy Horse commemorative .38-55. Have visions of it making a wonderful cast bullet gun for deer/hogs.

Like to find a nice used Browning or late model Winchester 1886.

Love to find an affordable Mannlicher-Schoenauer in a obscure european metric chambering.

A Marlin 336 Cowboy .38-55.

Still like to have a matching set of 8 3/8" K-frames in .22LR, .22Mag and .38Spl. A .32 will only come if I win the lotto.

I would also like to have a Winchester Big Bore 94 .375 or .356.

Mine is a S&W Model 10 with 3" barrel and RB grip.

That 4" Colt Python my wife got me several years back, then parted with it to pay off a bill. Was LNIB, damn I wish I hadn't sold it. CraigC, I finally found a Big Bore in .375 about 5 years ago, probably 250 rounds shot thru it, beautiful hunk of iron!:what:

A Ruger Mod. 77 RSI in .257 Roberts. I have had the 30-06, .308, and .243 but have never seen the.257R even though I have been told they made a few.

A 4" N-frame .357, blued, not beat to death and under $600. Is that too much to ask?

Seriously, I'm on the hunt for a 4" Highway Patrolman. Found a 6" a couple of weekends ago, not quite there. Same gunshow had some 4" 29s floating around, good thing it was out of state and I didn't bring money! Still holding out for a .357, though I love the .44 also (and .45 ACP, and probably a .45 Colt, or even a... ;) ).
