Beretta AL390 Super Sporting...alloy receiver, rounded aft, all the usual AL390 traits plus the wide "sporting" (which, slightly confusingly to me at least, for Berettas seems to mean "competition" rather than "field") rib on the 28" barrel. Is it the porting on the barrel? Was porting standard on these?

Looking at one in nice condition for $600. Only "blem" is that the stock was shortened, then (nicely) glued back together and refinished. Thoughts on price? Seems attractive...

I shoot a 390 "Sport" it has no holes in the barrel except the one in each end. I believe it is the magazine cut-off lever on the left side of the reciever that makes it a sport model. Mine also has a vent rib but I do not consider it to be greater width than normal (not as wide as my SX2).
2 years ago, I paid $525 new in box with 3 choke tubes, nice wood stock with shims. I consider that a bargain. I, personally do not like ported barrels and wouldn't pay extra for that feature. I also don't think much of a stock that got hacked even if it is nicely hacked.

The 390 series guns are very good. IMO, $600 is a little high for a rework.

Not fond of ports either. Triggers on the B-autos tend to be less than optimum.

Offer $550 if it speaks to you...
