I guess I'm part of the older generation (57 years old) and as a result I prefer a revolver for concealed carry.
The reason for my preference in revolvers is that when I first got into handguns semi-autos were not the most reliable firearms on the market. Don't get me wrong... I've seen some tuned semis that didn't act up... but I figured if I was going to bet my life on a piece of hardware it was going to be as close to 100% as it could be... and at that time (for me) it was a revolver.
Seeing that semi-automatics have vastly improved over the years since I first got involved with handguns, I now believe the choice between a revolver and a semi is "six of one or half a dozen of the other"... but I still wear a revolver on my hip... I guess it must be my age.
