I know there are several revolver collectors out there, either Smith and Wesson, Ruger or Colt. Or people that collect Colt SAA and clones. And there are people with literally dozen's of 1911 guns. But I've never seen an avid collector of _________. Fill in the blank.

Are there people here that have to have one of every SIG? Or Glock? Or Beretta? Anybody with an itch to have a bunch of Kahr's?

It seems revolvers and 1911 semi-autos are the favorites of collectors, but any others?

-Robert

I collect in the category of "guns I like". If I like it, I buy it. I don't feel like I need much of anything to fill in gaps. (well, I do need a pump shotgun, but that is a whole other can o' worms). I know if I handle it and like it, I will shoot it and so far, nothing has been ignored.

I own more Glocks than anything else. I am definately looking into the discontinued S&W 10xx series. I own one as of right now, a 1026. Next will hopefully be a 1086. Basically, I would like to aquire as many 10mm handguns as I can as opposed to one specific make of handgun.

I like to collect discontinued models of defferent makes. I do have a Colt Z40, S&W mod 27, Ruger single six (3 screw). But most of the time I resist the urge, because I don't like owning guns that I can't shoot all the time for fear of decreasing its value. I tend to buy guns that I know I can shoot good...mostly 1911's. :)

The only two guns I could personally see collecting would be 1911s or Smith revolvers. Nice military issued 1911s and 1911A1s would be my number one hobby if I were endowed with better fundage.

I know one guy here in Indiana that has one of each Glock... except the 18, 25 and 28... Several multiples and several of different generations... I can't possibly understand why someone would want to amass such a collection as they are extremely unlikely to increase in value anytime soon.

I am not a traditional collector, because everyting I own gets used. I tned to foucs more on caliber than on a specific brand or model.

Mostly, I buy 9mms, or .22s and own a fair number of each, in both semi-autos and revolvers.

I'm with a couple of others here, I "collect" .45ACP handguns. Doesn't really matter what the action is (and I try to stay with reputable manufactureres) but I don't lean towards any one type of gun.

However I am currently on a 1911A1 kick.

Good question, I've been trying to make sense of my 'collection'. I guess I'm like WKW, in that I collect 'guns I like' and I like Sigs (current holdings include a 2225, 226, 228, 239, and a 232 I sold to my BIL), but I'm also developing a tase for 1911's (3 Kimbers in three sizes). I'm not really a revolver guy, i've only owned one (S&W 60 in .357), though I enjoy shooting them as a change of pace.

I toy with the idea of focusing on classic 9mm's, and I want some more 1911's, but if you look at what I actually have the most of, it seems I favor alloy-framed/light-weight compacts - Sig 225/228/239, CZ75D-PCR, Kimber Ultra Carry, Kahr P9, H&K USP45C . . .

It's all good, I guess, I enjoy them all, and sometimes, time trying to make sense of it all would be better spent shooting, yes?:D

My collection of 10mm's pales in comparison to NordicG3K's, but I love it nonetheless - 1006, 1076, DE, Javelina, Megastar, Grizzly, Kimber, Razorback, and soon - DW PT-C !!!

I also collect some other "interesting shooters" - Coonan model B AND Cadet, Grizzly .45 Win Mag, CZ-52, plus some 1911's.

I just got a real neat package - RAP 440 - nice tight compact .40S&W.

I LIKE!

I collect Steyr pistols and Ruger everything. So far I haven't been bitten by the Kimber of HK bug. I consider that a good thing considering I don't an unlimited budget. Steyrs and Ruger are expensive enough.

I look for Sigs, CZs, or S&W Revolvers that I come across at prices I can't refuse.

I'm pretty eclectic...

I tend to collect either either target pistols or self defense pistols.

I have a Jimmy Clark 45 Auto that shoots ridiculously well; a Chesire and Perez PPC revolver (S&W), and a Ruger Target Model that's been done over a bit. A Ruger Blackhawk and EMF SAA fit in this catagory because I have used them in Cowboy competition.

But I also like defense guns. I consider this category to be those that were designed or intended for defense. Therefore, I have a 1908 Colt Pocket Pistol in 32 ACP that falls in this class. Also in this group are several different double action revolvers, some original and some modified; and several 1911 pistols in different states of modification. (I really need an as issued 1911 and 1911A1.)

Then I have a couple handguns that are function oriented. A S&W M29, for instance. Accurate enough for a target gun and having adequate power for defense, it's sort of in a class by itself. A very powerful revovler just because. And I may get a chance to shoot a pig or deer at some point.

I would like to collect US made .32 ACP pistols. But not yet.

I try to collect name brand pistols that shoot well.
I try to collect knowledge about them through this forum.

My tiny collection of seven handguns and a rifle tilts heavier on the SIG-Sauer side (3).

I enjoy a wide variety of quality manufacturers, no one collecting focus among them.

Older s&w revolvers (1980 back to the first hand ejectors)
Some ruger revolvers for their strength
1911's of different makes, but partial to Colts in general, not into Kimbers
HK's P7 and USP compact series'
Sigs of many types, notably p226, 225 and 220
VERY interested in the new Rohrbaugh
Couple different Berettas, a 950 Jetfire & 92, no plans to go further there (nice guns though)

A diverse collection to me is much more satisfying.......

I won't say I collect. More like I accumulate shooter grade S&W. Vintage if I can help it. My brood is quite varied. From PC945s to K22s with a few snubbies in between.
