I use siera 150 grain round nose bullets and i am looking for any suggestions for long range shooting at ranges around 800 to 1000 yards.

I've had great success with 140 gr Sierra Gamekings. I've tried Nosler Partition, Ballistic tip, CT Ballistic silvertip, all Hornady's, and some others I'm not remebering. The Sierra 140's were half the size groups compared to the others in my gun.

Nosler 150 grain Partitions unless you are blasting targets then use the Gameking which is real accurate in most any weight. The 130 grain is actually better for smaller deer and antelope, but then you need a premium bullet like the Barnes X series in my experience to avoid blow up at close range. I shot Remington 130 grain bronze points or 150 grain Silver tips out of my 1953 Model 70 from 1964-1987 and never lost anything properly hit. The Silvertips would spray aluminum around inside however.

Big fan of the Barnes TTSX 130 gn. Out of my .270, this bullet has more than surpassed all other bullets I have tried. 1" groups at 300 yards, out of a hunting rifle to boot. I shoot them a little hot at 3175 fps, but they show no sign of pressure.

The problem with heavier bullets in this caliber, is stabilizing them out to those distances.

I havent tried long range (longer than 100yds), but the Sierra 130 grn Gameking has been great to my rem 700 on paper. I use CT ballistic silver tips for hunting.

I have a couple of 270's. The 130 grain bullets just have the best balance of velocity and accuracy in that caliber. The 100 grain loads are basically varmit loads. The 150's, well they don't have the velocity of a 150 in a 30-06, so I don't see the point of it.

I think the 270 is at its best with a high velocity 130. Shoots very flat out to 400 yards, and at ranges like 200 yards, absolutely devasting.

The Berger is probably your only choice at your requested distance. Not many choices for bullets in the 270, if you're shooting long distance.

For the ranges your planning, I'd suggest the Sierra 135 grain Matchkings. They are open-tip boat-tail bullets similar to the .308/7.62 bullet in the M118 LR.
