Excellent! Searching out used gear at estate sales, classified ads, places like the THR salesboards will help you stretch your dollars more, too.

Used reloading gear from gunshows saves a ton of $$$. I'm using stuff that was already well-used when I got it back some forty years ago. Even some old Pacific dies from the 1940s.

I've loaded plenty of sub-MOA stuff on an old C-press. No big deal; just patience.

LOL Art I told the kid months ago I had everything he needed to get started with. Hell I have 4 presses 3 powder dumps and tons of other crap on my bench for when I am in the rolling mood. To heck with changing the dies for every cartridge, Just switch to the other press! Think I got him all lined out with a RCBS Partner Press kit, Hornady Powder dump, #3 shell holder, Digital scale, cartridge tools, Calipers, and a Speer reloading manual. Am I missing anything Art? Think that will get him started really well when he gets his dies, powders, primers.

I'm pretty sure you just insulted me.
And said a curse word.
If you have something to say to me send it in PM form because Not a single soul on this thread appreciates you or wants to read your posts, and to answer your first question a Rifle that has been upgraded, finely tuned and is a tackdriver is much more valuable than 2 rifles that aren't.

Freedom, thank you for making this work out for me so well, I can't wait to send my first "handloaded" round downrange.

The rifle, how are you going to change it without knowing what you want it to end up like? At least that's how I build my rifles.

If your going to accuracy a trigger and maybe a better stock or barrel would help. Has the action been bedded to the stock?

if you are you are going to do that much to just one gun why not just buy a new gun?
oh and for the record I NEVER said that I knew more than than you did. If you have useful knowledge to share on gun related topics id LOVE to learn it instead of having to listen to you trying be a smartass. you have a sick mind do you know that?

I've put enough money into my AR to build/buy another one. Why, you may ask. Because it's mine and I'll do whatever I want to with it. After it's done, go try to find another AR like mine in 3 counties. Perhaps the OP wants the same with his rifle. It may not be your cup of tea, but shut up and hold on cause it's his rifle and his money that's invested into the project, not your ignorant comments.

And no sense calling people a smartass. That's not very THR-like. MODS, please address this ever growing problem. People like this do not make this forum very professional.

IP ban if possible?

recently none. I shot at apples last time I went to the range upon figuring out my barrel was fouled. I got one 1" group that day but I knew something was up because It wasn't me producing the 3" groups or the loads it was the copper in my stick.
My groups have been about .75" on average with Hornady 165grain boattail soft point, and I have gotten a couple .5-.6" 3 shots with Hornady A-max 168 grain boattail ballistic tip.
Now, let me ask you something what kinds of groups are you shooting now?

bang bang- I agree. I informed Art and action should be taking place upon this little troll of ours.

Hatterasguy-
I'm trying to build a very accurate rifle off a Howa sporter .308 barreled action.
I'm about to start loading for it, so that should help, and be fun to have some funky loads with 220 grainers and some with 100 grainers for a 150grain standard rifle.

Yes I do, I do think these groups are good for a factory rifle with no custom work a standard barrel and a pillar bedded hogue stock that is factory floated.
I think a rifle that can zap apples at 200 yards is more than good enough for me, but if I could zap grapes it might be more fun.

100 grainers for a 150grain standard rifle.

I've loaded 110 Sierra HPs in my 300 Win Mag. Nasty on groundhogs since they're traveling at 3200+ fps. You can achieve practically the same fps out of the .308 with the small pills I think. They also shot pretty good at 300 yards.

good point and nicely put.
oh and id say new stock and/or a reloader but thats justs me

bang bang-
yeah I have always been interested in doing that for coyotes, and targets, I have heard the recoil goes down a bit if you load less powder along with that lighter bullet at 2900 or so fps.

rhino-
I am getting a reloading set up, then a stock down the line possibly.
what kind of groups do you get with that .264 jake is always talking about?

Not sure about what his twist rate is but it might be a little fast for the really light pills. 2 fast and they have a tendency to go POOF on the way to the target.

I'm going to give you the benefit of the doubt and drop it for now, but it seems a little too similar for me to say "they are both just people creating similar threads and making rude comments"

Ah 1:10 you should be fine with the light ones then.

That sonic poof it actually kind of funny to see. Whats REALLY hilarious is when they blow up right in front of a P-Dog. You will split a rib laughing!
