What Size Balls?

Can anyone tell me what size detent ball is used in new style (round tang) S&W L frame rear sights?? I took one to a gunsmith to have XS sights put on it, they lost the ball and are having a problem getting a replacement. I think it is a sixteenth inch diameter which is in stock at midway.

Not a gunsmithin' type by any stretch, but the last time I lost a detent ball, I went to a local bearing supplier and tried what they had until I found one that fit. Didn't charge me a thing.

Take the ball out of a medium ball-point pen refill and see if it will work.

After doing some research I found they don't use a ball for the detent but a sixteenth inch diameter plunger.
