Ran into them at law school last week. I think to myself "I dig the constitution, this group should kick ass." Alas, no. Apparently they are dedicated to a "progressive constitution." The constitution of Denmark perhaps? I dont know.

Hmm, a little search online reveals your standard left wing board of directors. Anyone know how much this little group has in the way of membership? Should I join and agitate?

Oh, and I joined the federalist society. Non-living constitutions for the win.

Googled this up:

Speakers at ACS events have included:

Ann Aiken
Tammy Baldwin
Bob Barr
Stephen Breyer
William Bryant
Ruben Castillo
Hillary Clinton
Michael Dukakis
John Edwards
Barney Frank
Al Gore
Tom Harkin
Jesse Jackson, Jr.
Edward Kennedy
Kate Michelman
Abner Mikva
Ralph Nader
Ralph Neas
Janet Reno
Cass Sunstein
Laurence Tribe
Patricia Wald
Paul Wellstone

Yeah, I thought I smelled some Soros influence but it isnt like their list of donors comes up on google. Do you have an alternative source for that Soros-ACS financial link?

Talking to them, I definitely got the impression that were trying to build up a socialist answer to the Federalist Society. Of course, things should get interesting when they get to the "debating ideas" part. Even their webpage isnt honest about what their goals are. They speak in a bunch of left-wing buzzwords that hide what they are really fighting for.

I just hope that the republicans still control the senate and presidency when the next supreme court opening happens.

I got exactly the same pitch last year. :barf:

In ConLaw you'd call this facially neutral with discriminatory intent. Orwell would be proud.
