I was pulling some boxes of ammo I loaded for my GP100 357. One of the boxes had 20 rounds each of 7.7 and 8 grains Unique topped with a 125 penn target grade lead bullet. must have been a batch I loaded to test out but it sure seems high.

Seems reasonable to me if the lead is hard enough

The loading manual I keep near the computer has 8.6 grains to 9.6 grains of Unique for 125 grain jacketed bullet (no data for lead at that weight). 33,800 psi.

Were you deriding yourself over pressure, leading or what?

I may possibly had a brain fart. I may have had the data for a 158 in mind. I usually only load these in lead. Most manuels have 6.8 to 7 max with this bullet. I did a little research and see Orgeon Trail shows data for a lead 125 starting at 7.7 t0 8.6. I'm sure Or Trails are a harder cast but I'm sure I'll be ok. Was worried about PSI.

That is fine in .357. Whether the bullet can take it without leading is a different story, but pressure wise you are fine.

Perhaps. it's easy to do.
