What's the status of Cali. CCW reform?

Does anybody know if there is any progress in Cali. ccw reform (i.e. change to shall issue state)?

Thanks in advance Hank

Dunno. Have you looked at Packing.org?

Sure would be nice to carry here -- WA, NH, and all the states that honor their permits trust me to carry a gun. California makes it hard for me to even own a gun.

Unfortunately it appears that there's only two ways to get shall-issue CCW in CA statewide:

A) An RKBA constitutional amendment to the California State Constitution saying that there is a right to keep and bear arms, and stating that licenses must be granted without discretion.

B) Jim March's lawsuits to get the entire CCW statute struck down as an unconstitutional violation of equal protection.

The Legislature is not amiable to any sort of CCW reform at all. They'll have to get it rammed down their throats, as usual.

+1

However, nobody shows any real interest in either option. Sure, a couple of people will grumble about it on the Internet, but that's as far as either will go. Ask for help, and listen to the deafening sound of silence...

The person who'd be able to comment on the second part basically disappeared off of THR for 7 months. Been seeing some statements on the THR board saying that he will be back very soon.

I loked out the window and didn't see any pigs flying. Checked the weather report and they say hell hasn't frozen over.

Based on that, Kali is still a "never in a million years issue" state. :barf:

We have a real problem out here: it's called democracy. Any changes have to get majority approval and the majority of nimwads out here are afraid of guns.

Hell even when the majority of Californians approve something (curtailing services to illegal aliens) some nimrod Circuit Court Judge will overturn the will of the people as unconstitutional.

Our legislators would prefer "no issue".

Awww! Come on now! Everyone knows that all you need to do to get a CCW here is to either get your name on a ballot with a "D" next to it or land a high-paying acting job.

It's not like there's just one single standard. They're just seeing to it that the right people get to carry.
