Got the email today telling me I'd been drawn and I needed to pick from the remaining "prizes" in the Knife Rights Ultimate Steel. I won't pick any of the remaining firearms related items since they're not special to me in the way a hand made knife is.

Do I pick a blade from a maker that's a buddy like I normally buy?

Do I pick a blade that is most expensive to keep or sell to get the return on my donation?

Do I pick a blade that I wouldn't have otherwise "won"?

What do y'all think?

The one that is most likely to further the cause of knife rights, or the one you want to show and talk about proudly, could be the same one :)

Something unique - Sam Taylor's forged TiNb.

The young bladesmith is a mad genius forging titanium alloys into usable blades that owners have been clearing brush with. Intrigued by his work and his brother's (Circle Hook knives) we had planned to get a piece from him some day. Look at his run on Knife or Death.

Snicker snack!

The mechachete I selected at Knife Rights came today and I went to work clearing hickory, privet and other woody veg from my range. I have to say that I'm impressed. Light, quick, and sharp. It was comfortable and grippy. I certainly sailed through what I set it to. I almost can't wait to this weekend to wreck havoc on more invasive vegetation.
