i really want to get into a shotgun course, as i own one and it is possibly my weakest platform, no wait it is for sure. I am gonna try to make the Tactical Response Fighting Shotgun in Atlanta.

I would like to take a vehicle defense class, working in and around vehicles.

I would like to take another Carbine course before my next deployment.

Love to hear what you guys have planned.

I'm hoping to take LFI-2 next year, and perhaps some classes locally from Louis Awerbuck.
That sounds like a good year of training, I look foward to training with Louis in the future, as well as meeting and training with Mr. Ayoob. Please write a review of any and all class that you take, that is a great help to many of us.

In March, I'm taking NRA shotgun instructor and NRA rifle instructor courses, along with the NRA range safety officer course.

In September, NRA pistol instructor.

I'm looking forward to a few conferences this year where I will be able to jump in on sessions being taught by other instructors. The NE Shooters Summit, IALEFI ATC and 1 inch to 100 Yards conferences, for example. I will also be inviting an instructor to attend the CFS Instructor Conference and put on a course for my team there which will most likely be a Close Quarters or Carbine event.

I am also going to try to get to a Crossfit Level 1 Certification Class.

They are both correspondence courses you can take in the comfort of your on home. Upon completion, you will receive a very nice certifcate, suitable to frame. Then you will be a certified Mall Ninija and Sidewalk Commando. Again, thanks for you intrest. orchidhunter

Right now the only thing I have planned is Randy Cain's Close Quarter Handgun Tactics later this month at Southern Exposure. I try to attend the NTI and Rangemaster's Tactical Conference every year, and I usually can make at least one, but my schedule will prevent me from doing either this year.

I'd really like to take an LFI refresher course (my last LFI course was in 96). As well, I've been taking some pretty good tactical knife courses over the last year, and I'll probably try and get to at least 2 during the next year as well.

Same as every year. Be involved with the NTI, and the monthly Study Groups.

I'm aiming for a shotgun course this year, and running it with a double barrel. I want the training both for myself, and to have those skills so I can pass it onto others.

wow that will be an experience there.

I need to go to an NTI one of these years, my buddy is going this year, man i wish i was.

Well, if you took one of Yeager's courses this year you probably heard him talk about it. I know he's made a commitment to encourage each of his students who have made the decision to master our study to attend the event. I think there's about 17 already signed up from his promotional efforts.

Make yourself a commitment and plan the trip. It's well worth your time.

Rather than go on about it myself, I'm content to let others talk about what the event has meant for them in their own words.

I want the experience both for myself, and for the other people I come into contact with in my life so I can pass on what I'll learn from it. The double barrel is a simple system to master, and quite effective. For the average gun owner it's a very appropriate tool. It takes less time to learn on a double barrel than it does a pump or semi-automatic. For those who aren't willing or able to learn to shoot a high capacity shotgun it makes great sense. They're inexpensive, intuitive in their operation, and less challenging or intimidating for the "non-gunnie" to master.

It's a skill I want to have both for myself, and one that I can pass onto those others in my life.

We're going to try and make one of the Appleseed events at Ramseur, NC this year- and take the neighbor's kids if we can. And Ken, we're working on making it to at least one Study Group session this year, if we can pull it off. Fran is psyching herself up to try for NTI, maybe next year if all goes well (she'll be retiring after this semester). She's determined to bug poor Skip some more about doing a book 8^).

And we're waiting to see what Louis Awerbuck will be teaching at Durham Pistol and Rifle Club this year, we missed out on seeing Louis and Snake last year because we spent our training budget on a new Fila puppy.

ETA 1/14- the Yavapai schedule has updated and Louis is on for Stage I Handgun at DPRC, 22- 24 May '09. And Refresher Handgun on 20 May. http://www.yfainc.com/schedule.html Now to consult SWMBO... 8^)

Already scheduled for another pistol course at FrontSight. Planning on also taking the Practical Rifle and Practical Shotgun classes. I just haven't scheduled them yet.

Hopefully a couple more Appleseeds (Last two I attended, I was the only one who qualified and wanted to go to the KD range :barf:). Tiger Valley's 5 day lvl 1 Precision Rifle. Been putting that one off for almost 2 years now.

ETA Hopefully Tom Dresden will come back to Houston for his HK class. Want in on another of this lvl 1 pistol classes. Sound fundamentals class.

i'm going to do my best to take a awerbuck shotgun class, as I'm in the same boat: got a shotgun, and stink at manipulating it, don't know anything about it

funds permitting, i want to go to the Rogers school

and of course, another Pat Rogers carbine class.

The list is extensive:

Sonny Puzikas "The Essence of Violence"
SouthNarc ECQC
Magpul Dynamics Carbine 1+2
Bruce Gray's handgun course
Matt Tempkin's CQC course
Long Range International's Long Range Rifle 2
Some sort of Force on Force course
Tom Sotis AMOK! (knifing)
Appleseed's Instructor Boot Camp
Maybe the instructor development course at Front Sight
SIG Sauer Pistol Armorer's course

Fortunately, I should get at least four in.
