Just like the title says....What type of knife is this?(see pictures below) It seems to have been made in India(thanks to the India marking on the blade.) Other then that the only other markings are a slight imprint of a "G" on the throat of the scabbard. And an imprint of the letter "C" on the guard facing the scabbard itself. Other then that I don't know much else about it.....thus any and all help about what type of kinfe this is and what it was used for is more than appreciated. Thanks in advance.:)

It's just a cheap knife made for the export or tourist market. If it was an old tribal knife of some kind, it wouldn't have that stamp on it.

Alas, both replies are right on the money. A very cheap knife that would sell in its home country for less than 5.00 dollars.

Thanks for the help, KodiakBeer, bobelk99, and Ron James. Nice to know what I finally have, sorta surprised it's such a cheap knife. The engravings in the wood are quite nice, but then again the blade is terrible quality. Oh well, it may be a knock-off but I think I'll clean it, sharpen the blade, and get it presentable.
