Just saw this again today on tee-vee, and coupled with the "what movies made you want certain guns?" thread, I am wondering if this rifle was real or cooked up in the prop department.

I cannot find a picture of it on the net, but it was in the bottom of a suitcase, under a false panel. the barrel and forearm were one unit which turn-locked into the reciever/buttstock unit. Then she added a huge olympic target-style forearm handle, for standing shots, then added the bolt to the receiver, the added a competition-style adjustable "buttpad", then screwed the scope/ring unit in in one quick movement. All in about 10 seconds or less. BS?

Some pretty good quotes in this one, too:

Most movie takedown sniper rifles are built on Japanese Paratrooper actions, but I've never seen said movie, so I dunno if it's true in this case.

The Long Kiss Goodnight was an awesome movie.

I'll have to dig out a copy and watch it again and see if I can help you any.
