What would it be worth?

Hello, its me again, Dan. Thank you all for helping me ID this shotgun:

http://www.thehighroad.org/showthread.php?t=483092

The Franchi 48al, it was made in 1965 though. I would say 98-99%, Looks to be unfired.

But my question is this: What or where would I begin to sell this shotgun? I was thinking that somebody else would get better use out of it. I will not be hunting with it, from what I have learned this is what it best suits. So i would much rather it go to somebody that really needs it. I would like to do so and get a new semi-auto pistol, or maybe even a different shotgun.

Any help would be appreciated again.

Besides various forum sites that allow sales, try Gunbroker.com, gunsinternational.com, gunsamerica.com, and auctionarms.com - they are typically the 4 biggest as far as traffic goes

I didnt know if maybe there is a listing on a "rough" value in some kind of a book somewhere....I know nothing about FFL and what not and sales of firearms.

There are blue books for guns... I don't have any though...

I would check gunbroker or auction arms and see what others are selling for...

Don't see what others are SELLING for, look at the closed auctions and see what they ACTUALLY sold for.

Those places seem to ask more than actual, but you can get a close enough guesstimate

If you are registered you can view ended auctions on gunbroker. Either do a search and at the top of the listings there is a drop-down to choose "completed auctions". Also available on the "smart search" page.

sweet.....yes I am a user of gunbroker, I like that site the best out of all of them, easiest to view and search.

I bought a Black Magic Model Franchi 48 for $400 recently. The plain model will sell for $350 and up in the condition you refer to. I don't pay gunbroker's prices. Go to ShotGunWorld.com and post it in their classifieds. No charge. I have several of these guns and love them. A SGW member recently tried to sell me a Franchi 48 for $400 in 95% condition and I turned him down. I would offer $350 if I needed the gun. With the economy like it is, the prices are falling on all but brand new guns.
