I will in the future if i save my tax money and deployment pay have a chance to have enough to buy either an sa m1a loaded and totally outfitted, scope mounts, rings, ammo and mags, bi-pod, sling hardshell case etc, or a fn p-90.

the m1a is a dream gun for me. and i have always wanted one and it is on the list that I most definetly will own before i die.

the p90's are just so cool and not that many people have them, i will definetly be the only person on my block to have one.:) i never even really thought about buying one until i keep seeing ads all the time for them and i really like em. held one the other day and though it is a little heavy but they are darn sweet. plus 50rds, in such a small package. and the design is just to neat,

so what would you guys do, and neither one is gonna fill any holes in the collection, they are both guns that i will have for the heck of it, which ever one i do get. any opinions would be greatly appreciated! thanks !

not counting class 3 stuff,

amp technical DSR-1
edm windrunner
a barrett in .416

Possum! I trained with an M14. Just gave away my age! I would buy the M1A if I didn't already have one. Then save your nickels and by the next one on your list. Two guns are always more fun than one.

I think I would like the 45acp luger. It's the ultimate historical firearm. Out of the two made for US trials 1 was destroyed after being torture tested, the other is still in working order, I would love to fire off a few rounds through that one.:)

Did you ever think of a 1919a6 ? mine in the mail as we speak :D m1a's nice guns i have 2 fun to shoot if you get good ammo

My current "wish" list;

Springfield 1903 with a C stock
An M1 rifle
A CMP M1 barreled action
A CMP M1 carbine
A Tubbs T2K in 6mm

Class III stuff?

non class III, I'd get an AR, with a 20" bbl, freefloat, A4 style.

I'd get a garand, carbine, 1911, 1917, and also a k-31, enfeild, and swedish mauser.

I'd get a little replica Gatling gun in .22 lr, which isn't class III because it is powered by a crank.

Going to class III
I'd like an American-180
A Thompson
A 1919, or a replica 1919 in .22lr if I have to pay for ammo.

all great replies but i was talking about the two i listed. i want to keep the list to a minimum, to save any more headache. decisions decisions.

I would have to go with the M1. You can not go wrong with it. It is a classic shooter and has beautiful lines. Then in a few years you can put on an SG1 patch and explore the universe:p

Between those two I'd definitely take the M1A... the P90 just doesn't do anything for me. If the M1A has always been your "dream gun" and fits into your toy budget... it should be an easy choice, right?

I don't have an M14 type, but intend to one day. They aren't getting any cheaper... guess I should get on it as well.

So if you're asking me to pick from the two I'd say the M1A because the P90 without it's A.P. ammo is nothing more than a .22magnum with an exceedingly cool rifle to shoot it! Whereas the M1A is a tried and true battle rifle worthy of it's acclaim. Plus it's shooting a manly caliber suitable for nearly all purposes a rifle can have.

My personal wish would be along the lines of a FAL that shot 1MOA with iron sights.

Have had an M1A for some years now and just like it better with time. It's the classic standard rifle with walnut stock and NM mods, and I run with irons. I have the necessary mounts to glass it but a 13 pound plus rifle is a lot heavier to throw around than a 10 pound one. Gets to be impractical.

I did have some spare bucks recently and if I did not have the M1A that would have been the one. As it was I did invest in more components for it.

Did splurge on a Bushmaster M4gery because that niche needed filling, and for the cherry on top I mounted a compact ACOG 1.5X. That, plus a match trigger, makes quite the little blaster. I would see that as much more useful than a P90...

I get one of the MP412-REX Prototypes, given unlimited funds. Then maybe a license to build them in the States.

I think I'd get a Blaser R93 in .300 Win Mag with a really nice wooden stock and then I'd put the most expensive 3-9x40 Illuminated reticle scope on it that I could find. Probably a MST-100.
