If I can find a place, either an 870 with a LM choke or the Beretta O/U with 8 and 16 POC.

Opening day dove hunting

Hello guys

my arsenal will be Remington model 11 in 20ga,16ga, and 12ga depending how they are flying. the model 11 is such a fast shooting gun, sometimes you will shoot twice in row not meaning to. It has been referred to as the widow maker.

I'm located in upper east Tenn and would like to find someone in the mid west area helping me with a dove hunt, in return I can host someone or two to hut grouse in the Tenn mountains I have three bird dogs willing and ready.:)

Thanks
Lee

I occasionally hunt with a Franchi 48AL 12 gauge that belonged to my grandfather. It has such a sweet, light, and short trigger pull that the "double shuffle" recoil will occasionally cause you to tap the trigger when the barrel springs forward...this is very unpleasant when using my handloads.... It's one of the two shotguns that has knocked me over when shooting from a less than stable position.

Nice lineup, machinist!

:D Thanks! I may be adding another 16 gauge wingmaster of approximately the same vintage as the one pictured. I also know where another 12 gauge magnum is for a good price($200 on the tag). I have a weakness for the 870. :)

Nice to see a few SXS as to me they are the proverbial dove gun, did not see any Winchester M12s though. Too bad, great gun.

If I go, it will be a toss up between,

Baker Batavia Special, 16 ga, SXS or

Winchester Model 12, 12 ga.

I have a Baystate 20 gauge single shot that is light and fast. I picked it up at a yard sale for $40. She aint pretty but she has the most recorded kills of any weapon I own.

I'll just be wishing I was in a state that allowed dove hunting. Here they are songbirds and protected as they poop on my truck in the driveway.:cuss::fire:

Gonna start w/my 11-48 .410 and if I can't make that work I'll switch to my B80 12ga.

Rem 11-87 Premiere 12ga. I do have a couple more I could use if something terrible happens. Old Mossberg 20ga (short) I used to hunt with when I was 9-13 or so.(but the safety is broken) I could use moms BPS 20ga, if dad doesnt use it. But from talking with him tonight, I think hes planning on taking his Light 12.
We're hunting behind my grandparents this year, only a few hundred yards from home.

Ive got to buy my license and get my HIP # before Monday too.

Right on, I'm not very quick on reloading it yet, thus the pumps are going to have to break first, and I'm only setup to reload 12ga right now. Maybe by next year I'll use it as my primary dove sniping weapon. ;)

An NEF could be hard on the shoulder where I hunt. Lots of birds, lots of shooting.

Here's a pic from last year of me (left) and my Spartan side by side 20 gauge.

Thumbnail is a pic of me hunting two years ago with my Winchester 1400. Can't see detail, but I just thought it was a kinda cool sunset pic. Actually, IIRC, it was a sun UP pic. LOL
