These pistols have always fascinated me, due to their reputation for accuracy and craftsmanship. They are the Lugers with 8" barrels and the long range signts.

I have seen one at a large local dealer (didn't examine it closely) that I suspect is a "shooter grade", probably with some mismatched parts, or refinished. He wants $995. He's pretty high priced, and if it was collectable I imagine he'd want much, much more. Most of the collector grade Artillery Lugers I have seen seem to start at $2000 or so and go up rapidly.

Opinions?:)

Yup, what you said. A nice 90% standard Imperial DWM is about a grand. A navy or artillery easy double that-supply&demand.;)

I believe it was Rifle magazine ,years ago that had an extraordinary Luger on the cover .Rare 1902 version, artillery version, shoulder stock, unfired condition !! Something like that is worth REAL money.
