I'm having trouble with my latest batch of commercial cast bullets feeding properly in my BHP. They are 135 grain 2-radius round nosed bullets. I think maybe I'm loading them too long; I was loading them to 1.15". I will try shortening them to 1.12 or 1.10" and see if it helps. I've never had any trouble at all with 125 grain truncated cone bullets, but I'm out of those and I have over 1000 of these 135's.

Is the Lee .356 120 grain TC bullet (not a tumble-lube) any good? I need to return some stuff to Midway and was thinking about getting a 6-cavity mold with the credit rather than getting a refund.

I was hoping to find a 125 grain .38 bullet that could be sized to .356 to use in a 9mm or .358 to use in a .38, but none of the profiles look like they would work very well in an automatic.

Thanks,
Bob

The Lee bullet you mention (120 tc) is one I've used a lot. It's accurate and a trouble free feeder in 2 BHP's and a Khar Mk9 that I've run it in. Best accuracy I found with that bullet was with Hogdon Longshot and Blue Dot. With the Longshot it thought it was a "bullseye " load grouping less than 2" at 25 yds! Blue Dot was'nt far behind either.

Go to castboolits, and read how to 'beagle' a mold. you could get that 120gr TC to drop around .03 larger than it does now with out permanent modification to it. so it could very well do double duty.

i've been eyeing that same six cav- right now I have the Lyman 120gr TC that looks very similar (mine drops heavy and large though, almost 130 gr after lube) but they shoot fantastic.

also slug your 38s, and your 9mm you might be able to run them both close together- I run my 9mms at .357 and my 38s at .359, but i've heard of some guys going up to .360 for 38/357. see what your firearms like.

I'll be home in syracuse (not to far from you fecmech, couple hours ) over thanksgiving. I have some of the lyman cast up and sized and lubed at .357 with some RCBS green lube. if you wanna try a few let me know and i'll mail em to you.
