The model number of the Yugo AK shown in your pictures in an M70AB2 (underfolder)....the M70AB1 is the version with the fixed wooden stock....in case you want to do a search online for relative pricing...

You really need a few more details about the rifle before anyone can give you an accurate value. How many rounds have been fired through the rifle etc? This would be an important question to ask your friend, unless you know that he purchased it in the very near past (since most if not all new Century built Yugo M70s come with plastic handguards, I'm going to guess that it was not purchased in the last couple of months...but I could be wrong). Has he had any problems with it...? Sounds like a fair price if it doesn't have too many shots fired (<500 or so), and if it's been functioning fine. The Yugos are fairly nice AKs.

no more than 300rounds of wolf through the gun. it's something he got bored with and just put it away.
Was purchased over a year ago and it comes with the magazine and bayonet.

these are pictures taken today (blue bedsheets)

That's about how much you'll spend on a new one, maybe a little more or less depending on whether your state has a sales tax or not and how greedy the ffl holder is. $450 would be a good deal on a new Yugo, $550 would be too much, $500 is pretty average. So if it's like new and there aren't any others available around you...

exact same gun from the exact same place brand new in the box with two magazines and shipping for $429 from classicarms.us

Yes $500 is high unless its in like new condition and actually in your hands with mags for that price, then not quite as high.

With the wood I would(and did) pay 500 for mine. Mine came with two yugo bho(bolt hold open) mags and the correct yugo bayonet though. You may want to ask your friend for a little discount, show him classics site or this website http://www.aimsurplus.com/acatalog/Yugoslavian_AK_M70AB2_7.62x39_Under-Folder_Rifle.html

If your into wood get it, it looks like it's in nice shape and it is near impossible to find wood handguards in nice shape. If the sights are straight get it, also Open the folder and see if it wobbles alot. 300 rounds is nothing, like 10 magazines shot through it, it's technically still new.

thank you for that site. I will try to get it for $400. is that reasonable for a used ak?

how does this compare to a wasr10? same quality? thanks

If you can get the Yugo underfolder in good condition for $400, GRAB IT! I wouldn't consider 300 rounds "used." It's nearly broken-in properly!!

FYI, if the "bayonet" is the one in your first photo, I don't believe it'll fit the AKM-pattern rifles; looks like a Spanish bayo for the CETME / FR7 / FR8 family.

I doubt that Glock mag will fit, either, without some extensive modifications.

"how does this compare to a wasr10? same quality?"

Quality-wise the wasr and yugo shouldn't be mentioned in the same sentence, they are worlds apart. Spend the little extra money and get the yugo. Even if you paid him 450. it would still be a good deal because of the wood. The reason the new ones come with the plastic is because all the good wood has been used up and there is no more. The value on the yugo will continue to rise, the wasr was built from rejected non milspec parts. If you ever decide to sell it, many will not even look twice at the used wasr. Hotsuit...ON!!:fire:

But do you have an 01 FFL? Otherwise that price is meaningless, unless you're buddy buddy with an 01 that will order for you at cost.
