I have read numerous times people praising the Polytech Legend. What's so great about this version of the AK-47? Thank you.

They were pre-ban Chinese AK's. As far as being a better rifle, they are a very good quality, but its not necessarily fair to call it a match version. Of all the Ak varients they do have a high reputation for outstanding quality, but not neccessarily of amazing, match grade accuracy.

The main reason they are so valuable is availability. When the goverment banned importation of Chinese firearms in the early 90's it made these instant collectables. They are few and far between and no more will be coming over.

Many people, myself included, think they are one of the most beautiful AK designs out there. The spike folder and double folder are simply breathtaking.

Those are nice AKs pictured, but they aren't "Legends". The Polytech Legend has a milled receiver, as opposed to stamped.

The Legend is a very nice AK, and as mentioned, the import ban of '89 allows these pieces to go for $1200-$1600 regularly (when they were new, they retailed for about $300)
