I somehow missed all the buzz on this new gun. I'm hearing a lot of people think highly of it. But why? It's certainly unique.

Ruger's big selling points were the higher grip, a cam-lock trigger system that's smoother than a comparable J-frame, wraparound rubber grips, and a partially polymer frame that's supposed to dampen recoil.

Seems that the smoother trigger and the bigger sights are what's drawing people.

Have a J frame and the LCR, prefer the LCR, nice shooting gun, less recoil, very accurate.

LCR

Reports on the Ruger Forum under "Revolvers" that a couple of LCR's have suffered flame cutting to the point that it burned a hole through the frame near where the barrel/forcing cone meets the frame. Appears to be isolated incidents. Ruger engineers fired thousands of rounds though the test models and didn't experience this problem. Time will tell.

Well it has cornered the Ugly Wheelgun market other than that I really don't know.

I find it big compared to a J frame or a Detective special even. Ill leave the LCR and stick with those two. They make plenty of other fine guns though.

i bought mine because of the feel
it felt right in my hand
once i got it home i discovered i shoot better with it than the compairable smiths
its gonna fall into that preference catagory soon instead of the dead pegged "you only got it cause it was new" catagory

i hate it when ppl bash a new firearm because there stuck in there ways and dub everything as "an answer to a question no one asked"

this is a great little snub 38 and i hope ruger continues making this and hopefully other variations in the future
