Way too frickin` long!

Over a year now. Only one range here, and the range near my parents house is a conn job from ^*%&!

Don't see it changing much either. :(

Since I took up the hobby and joined the local gun club (about 7 yrs) now I probably easily average a trip to the range per week. Good thing it's less than a mile from my house!

I did not shoot for about 6 to 8 months years ago.

It was when my late husband was dying of cancer and I was his hospice caregiver in our home. After his death... I was busy getting ready for the 'big move' as we had previously planned.

I'm still in college and therefore on a budget. The nearest range from my house that allows high-powered rifle is 45 minutes and with gas the way it is that can really add up. When i'm home, I probably get to the range about once or twice a month.

At school however, i'm fortunate enough to have a DNR range (free) only 20 minutes from my school. I usually bring either a .22 or a shotgun down and leave them with a friend who commutes to the school. Down there we go whenever theres a random weekday where neither of us have classes and have nothing to do.

range 10+ times a month (NRA instruction is 1/2 that). longest in 30 + years maybe a few weeks here & there. shooting about the same as previous years but inventory isn't being repleanished as muchly. i'll worry in a couple of years or just roll with the new prices of componants. untill recently classes offset a good portion of my own outgo.....even though more people in classes lately,, the increased $ aint keeping up with retail costs. is no joke....money aint what it use to be.

It was actually a three month period right after my son was born. Those buggers suck up all your time at first :)

and later they suck up a lot of money...
congradulations.....in a hand full of years you will have a shooting partner

Got out of the USAF in mid '63 and have shot some pretty much every week or month since.

That is, until my deadly heart attack May 16, '06. I mostly got over that in a few months but the three electric shocks had torn my right rotator cuff and biceps tendons apart. Surgery and recovery from that took over a year, it wasn't possible to shoot until a least last November but before I could shoot any I had another medical problem that resulted in more injury to the shoulder (nurses lhad ifted me on the beds by my arms and some of the shoulder repair tore loose). Finally recovered well enough to break my "fast" early this month! Spent a full day at my little private 100 yard range and had a grand time shooting most of the load test ammo I put together during that two years. A fun day!

Hope nothing like it ever happens to any of you.

When I was 18 I quite shooting and started chasing girls and going to parties. It seems that they were important at the time. So I quiquit shooting for 4-5 years even though my dad called about a week before dove season opened every year and wanted me to go. I wish I had that time back.

Frequent travelling and a busy schedule sometimes keeps me from shooting for up to 9 months.

With the price of gas, the price of ammo, and the increase in range rates, I haven't shot in almost 2 months!!! I used to shoot EVERY week, religously, but not anymore. Its getting hard just to drive to work anymore. I thought I was saving up guns for the zombies, but in actuality, I think they will come in handy when the revolution comes.
