What's the point of the Ruger P94 with the P90 around?

It seems the Ruger P94 .40 is the same size as the P90 .45. Why would anyone get that over the P90? Just for mag capacity?

Check out the ballistics of the .40. Then look at .45. The .40 is faster with nearly the same bullet weight = more punch.

Just an observation. I have been investigating and research shows that .40 is worth considering. However, I am emotionally attached to the .45 (and economically):D

I bought a Ruger P94 .40 and love it! That gun shoots just where I aim it and i've NEVER had a problem with it...put some pierce wrap-a-rounds on it and you'll never be sorry you bought one.

I really like the .40 on paper, but that's about all. It seems to me that the designers just didn't leave enough margin for error in this round.

Also, it's not as well shaped for reliable feeding as most other rounds, it's not as accurate (IME and depending on who you talk to) and it's not cheap to shoot. I got a friend who claims 10,000 rounds through his Glock .40 without one failure, (yea right) anyways...

Who knows though, a couple years from now I may be the .40's biggest fan....

Not sure but think the p94 is actually a little smaller than the p90 (and p89) and a little bit bigger than the p95 (and P93).

In answer to your question I suppose it is because a lot of people like the absolute reliability of a Ruger..the value they provide in terms of price to performance..and they want it that in a 40 caliber package.

Now, I could be wrong but I bet a other manufacturers that make 45 caliber handguns also make 40 caliber handguns as well. And some are physcially the same size and they probably sell a few. Could happen. :)
