What's this Mark 2 Ruger worth?

It's a Ruger Mark 2 (which I like because it doesn't have an internal lock) with adjustable sights.

The guy is asking $750, but there aren't any bidders so I'm assuming it's on the high side. What say you?

Waaaaaaaaaaay too high. I'm thinking $450 tops. $500 if you REALLY have to have it.

I agree that $750 is outrageously high. $400-$500 is max and you must be obsessed with owning it. I bought a Mark 2- 4'' barrel (blued not stainless) about 4 months ago for $200.00 in excellent condition. Incidentally, I own a Mark 2 like the one in question. I bought it in 1987 for $159.00 NIB.

Yes, I've owned several and never should have sold them. (We've never heard that before, have we?)

The above Ruger is something of a rarity in that it is stainless with a four inch tapered (not bull) barrel and adjustable sights. I figured it was too high but I'd pay a premium price for some things.

You aren't spending my money, you are spending your money. If it won't break the bank and if you want it, by all means get it. It is only worth as much as someone is willing to pay for it. If you are willing to pay $750 for it, then you should get it. Personally, I wouldn't pay that much for it. This is a gun forum after all, buy yourself a new gun!

I believe it's a KMK-514, with A 5 1/4" tapered bull barrel.
The stainless ones (not sure about any blued MK II's, but I have seen some blued MK I's with this barrel) were a limited production run made between 1990-1994.

I've heard those production numbers range from 2500-5000 with 1500 shipped with brown laminated wood thumb rest grips made for Outdoorsports in 1990-1991.

I certainly agree that $750 is way too high but I guess some kind of premium should be expected because of the limited production.

BTW: here's mine. Bought new in Jan '91 for $272. I've got 30k rounds through it and only had one malf that wasn't ammo related because I went about 6000 rounds between cleanings one time .

It's the market, that said there are upgrades that are all internal, however, it's high, real high, however, what I once paid 350 for, is now 600 (MKIII Hunter at wally world)

$350 tops. I got a new Mark III Hunter for $450 from Davidson's, with a blued finish. And we're talking a fluted bull barrel and fiberoptic sights. A very basic Mark II like that really isn't worth much

It's a nice looking MK.II and definitely somewhat different and uncommon but not worth the above premium price. I could see paying $500 or $550 tops for something like that.

In the current insane market everyone seems to be looking to cash in. Nice pistol, but unless it comes with something like 20 mags $750 seems way to high. IMO, I think the $400-550 range is likely fair market assuming you get at least 2-3 mags.

Heck, it seems most new .22's; be it Ruger's, Brownings, Walthers, etc... that I've been seeing at dealers seem to fall in that $400-550 price range.

$750.00 is out of the ballpark, It is a little rare, heavy tapered 4 inch? $500 would be my tops, but I have been known spend a little to much if I really want it.
