Unbelievable.

I just finished reading the post about an avowed, committed and entrenched anti-Second Amendment so-called "journalist" coming over here to stir the pot and the dismay that some of our own fence-sitters seem to have over "views" and "treatment" of this individual.

I read where some of us were moronic rednecks. Fine--you can keep that attitude up in Jersey or Philly or wherever, but don't bring it down below the Mason-Dixon line. We don't cotton to compromise over our rights down here.

Personally, I see zero difference between a firm anti-gun individual who believes and proclaims that our rights need to be restricted or completely done away with and the enemies I fought back in my uniformed service days.

Likewise, I see little difference between common street thugs who wantonly spit on the law as they go about dealing drugs, robbing stores, assaulting people and committing murder and individuals who fabricate lies, half-truths and falsehoods in order to mislead less-informed citizens about why an integral part of the Bill of Rights needs to be abolished.

Both are enemies of the Constitution, and therefore, an enemy of mine.

And I am not in the business of, nor the mindset of, appeasing an enemy of my country or my Constitution.

There is a genuine difference between an individual who says "I don't like guns, but that's just me--you have a right to own them," versus an individual who says, "I think all handguns should be banned and all rifles should be registered."

Likewise, there is a difference in how I choose to approach those who are fence sitters or less aware/educated on the Second Amendment and the truth regarding firearms versus those who outright state "Guns are bad. They should be banned/regulated/controlled."

The former is an opportunity. The latter is an enemy. I capitalize on opportunities. I battle enemies.

This whole appeasement crap is a mystery to me. Trying to appease obvious anti-Constitutional Rights individuals gets you no where. Appease can only lead to compromise, and our Bill of Rights is not up for compromise.

If someone wants to openly declare war on our Constitution and Bill of Rights, then they should damn well expect to be treated like the enemy they are.

Sadly there is a lot of appeasement-tolerance in this country now days that is total crap. Far to many have lost the fortitude to defend what freedoms we still have for fear of political correctness. Just my personal opinion here that encompasses firearm laws and a host of others I won';t go into here in a gun forum..
