So about a month ago I get this DVD from some home defense place which was supposed to show defensive gun lessons. The documentation said that if I didn't want it, I had to ship it back... I called BS on that and dropped it in the trash. I didn't order it and I didn't want it...
Then today I get a "bill*" from them, pointing out that since I kept it, I own them $12.95... oh wait, it's actually twice that since my wife's an NRA member, too.
I'm very unimpressed and disappointed that the NRA would support such gorrilla marketing tactics. Our local newspaper tired the same crap, dropping a "free" issue in the driveway, then trying to bill me for it... didn't work then and it isn't going to work now.
* Granted, in the fine print, it does say that it's not an invoice, but it's certainly written up to appear as one. So what, the NRA has to resort to tricking people into sending their advertisers money? I am not impressed.
